Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN Specialist Tutor for outreach tuition in Bromley, covering Year 7 to GCSE. You will deliver one-to-one Maths and English tuition, with Science as desirable, to learners who may struggle to access mainstream education.

Tuition is typically 10–15 hours per student per week, mainly during school hours, in learners' homes or community settings. A patient, adaptable and empathetic approach is essential, alongside an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching secondary Maths and English.
• Two years' experience supporting SEN/SEND learners preferred.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to engage anxious or disengaged learners.
• Works well in outreach settings and independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one outreach tuition to Year 7 to GCSE.
• Teach Maths and English across secondary age range.
• Assess learning needs and identify gaps.
• Plan and deliver structured, personalised learning programmes.
• Adapt teaching methods for SEND profiles and learning styles.
• Support EHCP targets and curriculum objectives and goals.
• Help students prepare for GCSEs and other exams.
• Build trusting relationships with learners.
• Monitor progress and maintain records of learning and engagement.
• Provide feedback to parents and schools.
• Collaborate with families and other professionals.
