Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Rough Sleeper Support Worker in Walsall for a 3-month contract with a local authority. The role focuses on outreach and person-centred support to homeless and vulnerable adults to reduce repeat homelessness and improve housing stability.

You will conduct risk assessments, develop tailored support plans, deliver life skills, and work with partners to access education, training, benefits, and housing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults, homeless individuals, rough sleepers, or people with complex needs.
• Experience carrying out assessments, developing support plans, and managing risk.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse service users and stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain accurate written and electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach across the borough to identify and engage rough sleepers and respond to referrals.
• Complete holistic risk and needs assessments and develop risk management plans.
• Provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable adults, including those with complex needs.
• Deliver life skills and social skills support through one‑to‑one and group sessions.
• Assist service users in accessing education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
• Support service users to access benefits, welfare support, healthcare, and housing services.
• Maintain accurate case notes and plans in line with requirements.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours rota and collaborate with partners to deliver coordinated support.
