Job summary

Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital is seeking a Bank Front of House Receptionist for the Outpatients department. This ad-hoc role covers shifts 8:00am–4:00pm, 4:00pm–8:00pm and some Saturdays, with pay at £13.10 per hour.

You will welcome patients, answer calls, book appointments and support the team in a busy outpatient setting. The position offers flexible hours across a range of shifts, with duties including managing emails, directing patients, and preparing clinical paperwork and forms as

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills are essential.
• Ability to remain calm and helpful in busy settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, ensuring they feel welcome and supported.
• Answer calls and handle enquiries from consultants, medical secretaries and patients; book appointments.
• Manage a busy email inbox, respond and action enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Direct patients to waiting areas and support clinical staff with paperwork as needed.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth department operations.
• Prepare referral forms, charge sheets and terms and conditions as required.
