Job summary

Dogs4Rescue in the North West of England is seeking a hands-on Site Maintenance & Facilities Operative to support across our Irlam and Accrington sites. This full-time role focuses on keeping kennels, pathways and equipment safe and well maintained for our rescue dogs.

You'll repair fencing, gates and structures, carry out joinery and general maintenance, liaise with managers on improvement works, and help ensure a secure, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Good maintenance, repair and DIY skills.
• Experience in fencing, joinery, carpentry or construction.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proactive problem-solving and high safety standards.
• Comfortable working outdoors and around dogs.
• Gas, electrical or plumbing qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain fencing, gates and site security.
• Carry out joinery and carpentry projects including pods and shelters.
• Perform general repairs and site maintenance.
• Assist with improvements to rescue facilities and dog living areas.
• Liaise with manager before starting improvement works; agree solution, timescales and budget.
• Identify and resolve maintenance issues quickly and safely.
• Liaise with contractors for specialist repairs, quotes or approvals.
• Ensure site remains safe, secure and well-presented.
• Record work, materials and orders using agreed systems.
