Job summary

St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College in Bradford is seeking an Outdoor Beacon 3-Learning Support Assistant to deliver engaging outdoor activities that support students with SEND, SEMH and EAL, helping them build confidence and engagement.

Working in the Oscar Romero Centre and outdoor settings, you will plan and deliver programmes, assist with Duke of Edinburgh expedition elements, supervise trips, and promote inclusion, wellbeing and safeguarding across two sites.

Qualifications

NQF Level 2 qualification or equivalent or experience.
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
Evidence of further education, training or development, ideally Level 3.

Responsibilities

Planning and delivering outdoor activities to encourage participation and inclusion.
Supporting teachers delivering outdoor education to larger groups.
Mentoring students and supporting personal goals.
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to colleagues.
Preparing and maintaining equipment and a safe learning environment.
Promoting positive behaviour in line with college policies.
Working with SEND, pastoral and safeguarding colleagues on reports and reviews.
Supervising students during breaks and visits.
Providing first aid and attending relevant training.
