Job summary

Amey in Glasgow is recruiting a permanent Highways Inspector to join the NMC South West team based in Polmadie. The role involves inspecting Scotland's trunk road network, collecting data and producing reports, with a 40-hour week Monday to Friday and training supported where needed.

No prior Highways Inspector experience is required; a positive attitude, outdoors work, and willingness to learn are valued. You’ll work with Transport Scotland to maintain infrastructure and support safety and

Qualifications

• Previous highway/infra experience not required but helpful.
• Valid UK driving license is required.
• Willingness to travel across the road network.
• Ability to collect and manage inspection data accurately.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled inspections across the South West road network.
• Identify and record defects and safety issues.
• Collect and manage inspection data accurately for reports.
• Support the production of technical information and reports.
• Work with operational teams to ensure works are safe and efficient.
• Assist with investigations and inspections related to incidents and third-party claims.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
