Job summary

North Walsham Town Council is offering an Apprentice Ground Person role in North Walsham. You will assist the Grounds Team with grass cutting, strimming, weeding, planting and watering, helping keep parks and open spaces neat and presentable.

Training will be provided by KEITS, leading to a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship, with safety checks and opportunities to learn about plant care and community event support.

Qualifications

• Keen to learn and develop new skills.
• Passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and has a positive attitude.
• Can work well as part of a team.
• Is willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follow health and safety procedure carefully.
• Driving license is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Grounds Team with grass cutting, strimming, weeding, planting and watering.
• Maintain parks, open spaces and communal areas tidy and well presented.
• Set up for events and assist with seasonal projects.
• Perform routine safety and maintenance checks of equipment and report issues.
