Job summary

Peak District National Park is seeking an Engagement Ranger to help people connect with, enjoy and care for the Peak District National Park. You will be a visible and approachable presence in your area, offering advice and information, and delivering pop-up events to help visitors understand and appreciate the park’s special qualities.

You will work with colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations to support nature conservation, responsible access and positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with a wide range of people.
• Experience delivering public engagement, educational activities or events.
• Understanding of countryside access and responsible recreation.
• Able to work outdoors in all weathers and around busy visitor locations.

Responsibilities

• Engage with visitors and local communities to promote responsible enjoyment of the Peak District.
• Deliver engaging pop-up events to help people understand and appreciate the park.
• Monitor rights of way and access land, identify issues, and support improvements.
• Work outdoors in all weathers, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Collaborate with colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations to conserve nature.
• Deliver infrastructure repairs such as gates, fences and signage.
