Job summary

Manpower UK Limited is seeking a cleansing operative to maintain Northampton’s streets and public spaces. You’ll empty bins, collect litter, and move waste to designated points, serving as a visible and valued team member in the community.

The role requires independence, good attention to detail, physical fitness for outdoor work, and the ability to engage politely with the public to uphold a positive town image.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively throughout the day.
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Physically fit and able to carry out outdoor manual duties in all weather conditions.
• Ability to interact politely with members of the public and represent the town positively.
• Basic problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Empty bins and collect litter to keep public spaces clean.
• Move waste to designated collection points and support waste handling.
• Ensure outdoor areas remain welcoming and safe for communities.
• Represent the town in a courteous and professional manner when interacting with the public.
