Job summary

Purosearch is seeking an experienced Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon for our Cardiff emergency hospital. This part-time, permanent position offers a structured schedule with 33.41 hours per week on-site, and a salary that reflects pro rata inclusion of allowances.

The role involves managing urgent and critical cases, delivering high-quality patient care, and maintaining excellent client communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be MRCVS registered.
• Have experience managing emergency and critical care cases independently.
• Be confident making clinical decisions under pressure.
• Deliver excellent patient care and compassionate client communication.
• Remain calm, pragmatic and organised in a busy emergency environment.
• Be comfortable using ultrasound, radiography and multiparameter monitoring.
• Be computer literate and confident using clinical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of urgent and critical patients in a busy emergency hospital.
• Provide essential care to pets when they need it most.
• Communicate effectively with clients during stressful circumstances.
