Job summary

Pride Veterinary Referrals invites applications from an Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join our emergency and critical care team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working 33 hours per week, you’ll join specialist-led referral teams and collaborate with nurses and assistants to care for referral patients.

The role requires a veterinary degree with RCVS registration or eligibility, and experience in out-of-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

• A veterinary degree and RCVS registration or eligibility.
• Experience working out of hours in emergency/critical care.
• Strong communication and client relationships.
• Openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability in team and independent work.

Responsibilities

• Work overnight on a 3-week rota as part of the night team.
• Follow treatment plans set by the Specialist Case Clinician.
• Collaborate with night nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and first opinion night vet.
• Provide out-of-hours support for referral teams in multiple specialties.
