Job summary

The Transmission Cyber Security role at SSE plc is based in Scotland with a base location requiring 50% of weekly time in Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness and occasional site visits across Scotland. The role supports safeguarding OT systems across substations, network and SCADA projects within the Transmission group.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or certifications in cyber security, engineering, OT, networking or related field.
• Experience with OT/ICS, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks.
• Knowledge of OT/IT integration in safety-critical environments.
• Experience in cyber risk, technical assurance or security governance (NIS, NCSC CAF, IEC 62443 or NIST CSF).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support cyber risk management and design/implementation of security controls.
• Support security assurance, testing and commissioning to validate requirements before go-live.
• Develop and improve security standards and documentation.
• Develop expertise in monitoring, auditing and network security tools.
• Act as an OT security adviser across SSE with SSE Telecoms, SSE IT and other teams.
