Job summary

Sword Group is seeking an OT Network Engineer/Consultant to design, implement and deliver secure network infrastructures for complex OT and industrial environments in Aberdeen. You will configure firewalls, VLANs and secure remote access while ensuring robust segmentation and security controls across IT and OT domains.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with enterprise and industrial networking, next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), and OT security frameworks such as

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise and industrial networking.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS and network services.
• Experience configuring and managing next-generation firewalls.
• Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco or Check Point.
• Strong understanding of firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, IPS/IDS and application-based security controls.
• Experience designing OT network segmentation and industrial DMZs.
• Experience with OT/IC environments and security frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST, Purdue model).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure OT and industrial network architectures.
• Configure and manage firewalls, switches, routers and secure remote access.
• Design network segmentation across IT, OT and safety-critical environments.
• Support DMZs, security zones and conduits.
• Configure VLANs, routing, access controls and security policies.
• Support firewall policy design and optimization.
• Ensure secure connectivity for OT applications and engineering systems.
• Collaborate with OT, cyber security, infrastructure and engineering teams.
• Produce network diagrams, test plans and as-built documentation.
• Provide guidance to clients on OT network security and resilience.
