Job summary

SGN is seeking an OT Asset Management Engineer to implement cyber security lifecycle processes, manage OT assets and deliver risk remediation projects across remote gas sites.

You will ensure compliance with NIS and ISA/IEC62443 standards, lead patch campaigns, and manage asset registers while collaborating with multiple teams to strengthen cyber security across SGN's OT landscape.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems (IACS) security practices.
• Experience implementing cyber security lifecycle processes in OT environments.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NIS regulations and ISA/IEC62443 standards for OT security.
• Own OT asset configuration systems and manage access and password controls.
• Oversee patch management, vulnerability management, and change control in OT environments.
• Liaise with internal/external teams to drive cyber security risk reduction projects.
• Travel within the UK to perform field/office activities as required.

This is an exciting opportunity within our Operational Technology (OT) Asset Management Engineering team. The role is responsible for implementing the cyber security lifecycle processes, managing OT assets and ensuring the delivery of cyber security risk remediation projects, applied to the industrial control and automation systems at remote gas sites.

• Ensuring compliance with NIS regulations and the enhanced CAF profile.
• Ensuring compliance to the ISA/IEC62443 Standard for Operational Technology (OT) cyber security via SGN's framework of policy and procedures, enforcing the "Assess, Develop & Implement and Maintain" lifecycle approach.
• Management and support of preventative work orders used to deliver OT patching campaigns, configuration management and password managementto ensure high levels of data integrity within Asset Management systems.
• Owner of asset configuration systems, management of OT access and security systems, OT asset registers, risk management document control, vulnerability management, patch management, system password management and software configuration management.
• Responsible for the testing of patches to mitigate new vulnerabilities, develop work instruction and support annual PEN tests.
• Ensuring the cyber security, secure by design approach, is implemented and managed during SGN's management of change processes.
• Liaison with internal and external teams to deliver critical infrastructure cyber security risk reduction projects.

What You Will Need

The job holder will be required to be performance orientated and a self-motivated individual. They must be able to balance conflicting priorities, challenging timescales and be able to work with people at all levels.

We're also looking for;

• Knowledge and experience of industrial automation and control systems (IACS), Process Control, Communication & Telemetry systems, Electrical and Instrumentation Systems.
• Knowledge of security for industrial automation and control systems (BS EN IEC 62443)
• Ideally have a minimum of HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, HNC in Process Instrumentation and Control or equivalent apprenticeship and a minimum of 2 years experienced gained working as an electrical and instrumentation technician with a knowledge of operational technology.
• Experienced with operational technology cyber security controls and management.
• Good communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders throughout the business.
• Ability to adapt to changing workloads and conflicting priorities.
• A full driving license and willing to travel within the UK on a regular basis working in both office and field environments is essential.
