Job summary

Circle Reading Hospital is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the theatre team in Reading. This is a full-time role offering 37.5 hours per week and a salary up to £42,500 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.

The post requires registration with NMC or HCPC as an ODP, with theatre experience in scrub, anaesthetics or recovery. The role includes infection control, patient safety and teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) registration is required.
• Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
• Understanding of infection control, manual handling and patient safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and supporting the anaesthetist.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient lists.
