Job summary

NHS Borders is inviting applications for an Orthopaedic Practitioner in the Trauma & Orthopaedic Service at Borders General Hospital. Band 4, 36 hours per week, permanent contract, working Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:00.

Trainee applicants may join Annex 21 with staged pay scales; qualified practitioners must hold the BOA Plaster Certificate and show recent orthopaedic experience. The post involves fracture clinics, orthopaedic outpatient clinics, ED and inpatient trauma care, with

Qualifications

• BOA Plaster Certificate for qualified applicants.
• Recent experience in orthopaedic, trauma, or acute healthcare setting.

• Willingness to undertake further training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide care within fracture clinics and orthopaedic outpatient clinics.
• Support the Emergency Department and inpatient trauma patients during clinic hours.
• Demonstrate experience in casting and splinting; training for trainee.
• Complete the Scottish Trauma & Orthopaedic Skills Course delivered through Forth Valley College.
