Job summary

Scottish Water is seeking a Field Response Network Service Operative for the Orkney area. You will respond to customer enquiries, use leak detection equipment, and help protect the water network while working safely and to DOMS hygiene standards.

You’ll balance independent field work with teamwork, manage workload, and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on disruption minimisation and customer service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HAUC reinstatement standards and health and safety requirements.
• Understanding of water and sewer hygiene codes and DOMS.
• Strong communication, reporting and follow-up skills.
• Flexible to standby rota and field workload management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries in the Orkney area.
• Make quick, well-judged decisions to resolve issues and minimise disruption.
• Protect water network integrity using leak detection equipment.
• Follow health and safety policies and hygiene code of practice.
• Use IT systems confidently and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
