Job summary

Element Materials Technology's Deeside laboratory is seeking an experienced ANALYST to prepare and analyse routine and non-routine samples using GC-FID and GC-MS in line with our accredited methods. Full training will be provided to support quality and compliance.

Based in Deeside, the lab handles soils, waters, wastes, oils and ambient air, delivering high-volume analysis and bespoke method development. You will work to tight deadlines, maintain data integrity and uphold health and safety

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related subject preferred.
• A-levels in Chemistry or other science/maths subjects.
• Experience in a commercial analytical lab advantageous.
• Alternative qualifications considered with relevant experience.
• Highly motivated, organised and a team player.
• Positive attitude and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standards for calibration and quality purposes.
• Conduct analysis and report results to methods and procedures.
• Control instrument and method validation.
• Ensure procedures comply with accreditation quality standards.
• Maintain good lab practice and housekeeping.
• Calibrate instruments, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Monitor stock levels and order consumables.
• Develop and document methods with senior staff.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
