Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking an experienced ANALYST to join the Organics Department at Deeside laboratories. You will prepare standards, perform GC-FID and GC-MS analyses, and report results in line with our accredited lab methods.

Full training will be provided, and you will work in a high-volume environment delivering timely, high-quality data while adhering to health and safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or a related subject preferred.
• A-levels in Chemistry and other science or maths subjects.
• Experience in a commercial analytical laboratory advantageous.
• Alternative qualifications considered with relevant experience.
• Motivated, well-organised team player with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standards for calibration and quality control.
• Conduct analysis and report results to company methods.
• Control instrument and method validation.
• Ensure procedures comply with accreditation standards.
• Maintain good laboratory practice and housekeeping.
• Calibrate instruments, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Monitor stock levels and order consumables.
• Assist in development and documentation of methods with senior staff.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
