Job summary

Element Materials Technology Ltd. in Deeside is recruiting for a Trainee Analyst / Analyst in the Organics Department. You will prepare and analyse samples using GC-FID and GC-MS in line with company methods, while training is provided to ensure quality and compliance in an accredited lab.

The role offers full training and a path to develop technical skills in routine and bespoke analyses, contributing to high-volume work and method development in a busy laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related subject preferred.
• A‑levels in Chemistry and other science or maths subjects.
• Experience in a commercial analytical laboratory advantageous.
• Alternative qualifications with relevant experience considered.
• A highly motivated and organised individual, who is a team player.

Responsibilities

• Preparing standards for calibration and quality purposes
• Conducting analysis and reporting of results to company methods and procedures
• Control of instrument and method validation
• Ensuring all analytical procedures comply with accreditation quality standards
• Ensuring adherence to good lab practice and housekeeping at all times
• Instrument calibration, routine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Prioritising workloads to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
• Ensuring a continual supply of lab consumables by monitoring stock levels and placing orders
• Development and documentation of methods in conjunction with senior analytical staff
• Following health and safety procedures
