Job summary

Element Materials Technology Ltd. is seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Deeside Environmental laboratory. You will join a small team in the Dioxins and Furans lab, preparing and analyzing routine and non-routine samples following established procedures.

You will contribute to high-quality data delivery and uphold safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include sample prep for Dioxins, Furans, PCBs and PAHs, calibration, documentation, and maintaining stock of consumables.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related subject preferred.
• A-level Chemistry or science/maths qualification.
• Alternative qualifications considered with relevant experience.
• Experience in ISO 17025 commercial analytical lab advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare stack, soil, ash and water samples for analysis of Dioxins, Furans, PCBs and PAHs.
• Prepare send out packages for client shipments.
• Prepare standards for spikes, calibration and quality purposes.
• Conduct analysis and report results to company methods and procedures.
• Maintain good laboratory practice and housekeeping at all times.
• Instrument calibration, routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prioritise workloads to ensure timely completion.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders for consumables.
• Develop and document methods with senior analytical team members.
• Comply with health, safety and quality procedures.
