Hargreaves Lansdown PLC is seeking a Database Engineer to join our Bristol-based team. You will maintain HL's Oracle-focused database estate, contribute to automation, and support cloud adoption while ensuring secure, resilient operations across critical services.

You'll work with Linux environments, participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to optimise performance and reliability for business-critical systems.

Qualifikationen

• Experience administering Oracle databases in production environments.
• Background in RMAN-based backup, restore and disaster recovery.
• Linux server administration with strong troubleshooting and on-call readiness.
• Experience with database migrations, patching and housekeeping tasks.
• Familiarity with automation, scripting and IaC concepts.
• Experience supporting production services through incident, problem and change management processes.
• Understanding security, resilience and operational risk considerations within enterprise tech environments.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Aufgaben

• Support and maintain HL's enterprise database platforms; focus on Oracle.
• Monitor performance, availability and capacity to meet business needs.
• Investigate incidents and service requests per SLAs and processes.
• Patching, maintenance and housekeeping of databases as routine tasks.
• Assist backup, recovery and disaster recovery operations.
• Follow change management for schema and configuration changes.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure and security teams.
• Support monitoring, alerting platforms and incident response.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with migrations, upgrades and cloud adoption efforts.
• Create and maintain technical runbooks and documentation.
