Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking an Oracle Database Engineer for a DV-cleared role based in Christchurch, Dorset. This 12-month contract will support a fully integrated command and control system, with long-term opportunities depending on performance.

You will work across design, development, installation, and deployment, focusing on Oracle database design, SQL development, performance tuning, and system maintenance, with a chance to contribute to upgrades and patches.

Qualifications

• Understanding the systems development lifecycle from design to test.
• Experience with SQL development and database object creation.
• Ability to design and model database structures.
• Experience in performance monitoring and tuning of Oracle databases.
• Experience with Oracle database administration and patching.
• Familiarity with risk management and vulnerability scanning.
• Experience configuring Windows/Linux/RHEL environments.
• Scripting/automation using PowerShell for deployment.
• Monitoring Oracle updates and coordinating with Oracle for patches.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, install, implement, integrate and support Oracle database components.
• Design and implement database tables and packages using SQL.
• Monitor and optimize Oracle database performance.
• Administer Oracle databases and coordinate patches with Oracle.
• Configure Windows/Linux/RHEL operating systems as required.
• Create bespoke applications and automated deployment using PowerShell.

Oracle Database Engineer (DV cleared)
Christchurch, Dorset
12 months initially
£74.68ph inside IR35 / Umbrella

Due to the urgent nature of this role, candidates will ideally hold an active DV Clearance, if not a minimum of SC Clearance being able to attain DV Clearance.

This long-term appointment is a complement to the existing 45 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system.

This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support – it is run solely from our clients Christchurch site for delivery to their customer at various locations.

• The development processes (e.g. requirements, design, specification, implementation, acceptance testing), and development tools
