Job summary

UHI invites applications for an Optometry Facilitator to support problem-based learning for optometry students within the Centre for Rural Health Science. The role focuses on guiding students through cases, with two weekly sessions and a minimum commitment across a semester.

The post involves an hourly rate based on the UHI grade 5 pay scale, part-time hours (0.2 FTE, ~7 hours weekly) with schedule to be confirmed with the line manager. PVG check and LGPS benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilitation or teaching is desirable.
• Ability to guide students through problem-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2 facilitated sessions per week (0.2 FTE at minimum 2 weeks per semester).
• Provide facilitator notes and structure for case-based learning tasks.
• Support optometry students in researching topics and defining learning goals.
