Job summary

UHI partnership invites an optometrist or dispensing optician to join as an Optometry Clinical Tutor on a sessional basis in Inverness. You will support clinical skills teaching and supervise student clinics, contributing to the BSc (Hons) Optometry curriculum and the new MOptom degree.

The role requires GOC registration, a passion for education, and a commitment to a minimum of 3 sessions per semester across flexible hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm pattern). PVG checks apply.

Qualifications

• GOC registered optometrist or dispensing optician required.
• Passion for supporting the training of the next generation of optometrists.
• Willingness to commit to a minimum of 3 sessions per semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical skills teaching and support delivery of clinical modules.
• Supervise volunteer patient clinic sessions and guide students.
• Engage early-career optometrists in education and mentoring.
