Job summary

Asda Opticians in Eastleigh seeks a full‑time, permanent optometrist to deliver high‑quality patient care and support our team. You will conduct eye examinations, fit contact lenses and participate in extended NHS service projects.

The role requires GOC registration, NHS performer status and accreditation with MECs or WECs, with CPD ongoing. 09:00–17:30 days shift, 40 hours weekly, with a discretionary bonus and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• Registered NHS performer with NHS area team or health board.
• MECs or WECs accreditation, or willing to attain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine eye examinations and contact lens assessments.
• Deliver extended NHS service examinations and follow-up for eye conditions.
• Support training and coaching with the Dispensing Optician Manager and maintain departmental standards.
• Support clinical and service queries across in-store, regional and home-office teams.
