Job summary

Asda Opticians in Eastleigh seeks a full‑time, permanent optometrist to deliver high‑quality patient care and support our team. You will conduct eye examinations, fit contact lenses and participate in extended NHS service projects.

The role requires GOC registration, NHS performer status and accreditation with MECs or WECs, with CPD ongoing. 09:00–17:30 days shift, 40 hours weekly, with a discretionary bonus and pension benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete routine eye examinations and contact lens assessments.
• Deliver extended NHS service examinations and follow‑up for eye conditions.
• Work with Dispensing Optician Manager to support training, coaching and maintain departmental standards.
• Support clinical and service queries across in‑store, regional and home‑office teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• Registered performer with NHS area team or health board.
• MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to attain accreditation within 12 months, funded and supported).
• On track to meet statutory CPD requirements.
• Right to work in the UK and evidence of NHS performer list and 2 clinical references.

Shift Pattern

Days shift – 09:00 to 17:30, 40 hours per week.

Rota

• Week 1: Saturday 09:00–17:30, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 09:00–17:30.
• Week 2: Monday–Friday 09:00–17:30.
