Job summary

IonQ in Oxford, UK is seeking a mid-level Optics Technician to join the Optical Manufacturing team. The role focuses on hands-on assembly, system builds, upgrades and supporting research projects for quantum computers.

You will work with engineers, scientists and senior technicians in a PPE-required assembly environment, maintaining lab safety and producing detailed documentation. This full-time on-site position offers base salary, bonus, equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3 years relevant industrial operations experience.
• Experience following work instructions for advanced assembly tasks.
• Experience working in PPE-enabled assembly environments.
• Willingness to collaborate within a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Support optics team with system builds and upgrades for quantum computers.
• Provide hands-on support through optical, mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Maintain a tidy and safe lab and workshop environment.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
