Job summary

IonQ is seeking a Technician for the Optical Manufacturing team to aid in the control of parts and hands-on assembly of sub-assemblies. You will work with engineers, scientists and senior technicians to support logistics and assembly of quantum systems.

The role requires practical technical skills in a laboratory setting, a proactive approach, and strong attention to detail. On-site work with PPE is expected in Oxford, with a focus on high-precision assembly and documentation.

• Willingness to follow instructions and work safely with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Support the optics team with system builds and upgrades for quantum computers.
• Perform hands-on optical, mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Maintain a tidy, safe lab/workshop environment and document work.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for projects.
