Job summary

Specsavers in Chatham is seeking a Lab technician to prepare customer spectacles to high standards using the latest equipment. You will be part of a team focused on accuracy, quality and customer satisfaction, applying your optical lab experience and strong communication skills in a dynamic retail setting.

The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented person who is flexible, organised and committed to excellent service for local customers and their families.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reading lens and frame specifications from prescriptions
• Using blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses to the correct shape and fit
• Assembling lenses into frames
• Tinting of lenses to provide UV protection and a variety of colours
• Attention to detail
• Ordering frames and lenses
• Quality checking of completed glasses

As a Lab technician you will use the latest computer-controlled equipment with an eye for detail & accuracy, allowing you to maintain high standards to maximise customer satisfaction.

With your previous knowledge of an Optical Lab, you will be part of a team responsible for preparing customer’s spectacle orders to the highest standard.

Our store

Specsavers Chatham is a customer-focused opticians providing professional eye-care and hearing services to the local community. The store offers comprehensive eye examinations, sight tests, contact lens consultations and fittings, as well as dispensing and fitting glasses and sunglasses. Hearing services include hearing tests and support with hearing-care solutions. The team focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care alongside friendly, personalised customer service, helping customers find the right products and solutions for their individual needs.
