Job summary

Specsavers Keynsham is seeking a proactive Lab Technician to ensure glasses are produced to high standards. You will read prescriptions, cut lenses, assemble frames, and tint lenses while maintaining strict quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Read prescriptions to determine lens and frame specifications.
  • Operate blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses as prescribed.
  • Assemble lenses into frames with precision.
  • Tint lenses for UV protection and color options.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed glasses.
  • Order frames and lenses as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and machinery.

The role:
  • Reading lens and frame specifications from prescriptions
  • Using blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses to the correct shape and fit
  • Assembling lenses into frames
  • Tinting of lenses to provide UV protection and a variety of colours
  • Attention to detail
  • Ordering frames and lenses
  • Quality checking of completed glasses
  • Good housekeeping and machine maintenance
