Job summary

Boots Opticians in-store role as Optical Assistant involves greeting customers, assessing needs, and guiding them to the right eyewear and services. You will be based in store, report to the store manager, and support with eye-tests pre-screening just as part of the customer journey.

You will develop skills through the Step Into Optics training programme and contribute to dispensing glasses and contact lenses, aftercare, and administrative tasks while maintaining high shop-floor standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer care.
• Enthusiasm for learning and personal development.
• Experience in a retail or clinical environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Order, dispense and collect glasses and contact lenses.
• Support with eye-tests and pre-screening activities.
• Provide aftercare support through repairs and adjustments.
• Complete operational and administrative tasks associated with dispensing prescriptions.
• Maintain shop floor standards.
