Job summary

Change Grow Live in Barnet is seeking a Recovery Worker focused on opiate dependence to engage and assess service users, ensuring timely, personalised interventions across their treatment journey.

You will deliver screening, assessment and recovery planning, reduce opiate-related harm, promote involvement of carers, service users and the wider community, and provide advocacy for access to partner services. You will also run structured groups and workshops at various stages of recovery.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues.
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with good IT skills.
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with strong time management.
• Good working knowledge of mental health interventions and best practices.
• Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills for partnership work.
• Ability to manage change prioritising service user needs.
• Understanding of information governance processes and safeguards.
• Commitment to learning and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Support service users from entry into the service through their treatment journey.
• Provide screening, assessment and recovery planning and onward referral.
• Reduce opiate-related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Promote carer, service user and community involvement.
• Provide advocacy for access to partnership services.
• Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery.
• Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups for progress review.
• Tailor workshops to service user needs (e.g., anger management, sleep disorders, relationships).
• Support the alcohol team with the monthly community detox.
• Evening and weekend work required.
