Job summary

CHEC is seeking a permanent Theatre Lead to oversee the theatre department, ensuring governance and high standards of ophthalmic patient care. The role covers 4 days out of 7 with a 37.5 hour week and includes visa sponsorship.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Theatre Practitioner with leadership capabilities, guiding the team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and delivering safe patient care in ophthalmic settings. Role offered on a permanent basis.

Qualifications

• Registered practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Experience in theatre/scrub, ophthalmic preferred.
• Degree or equivalent; leadership/teaching is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the theatre department team, ensuring governance and high standards of care.
• Oversee scrub procedures in ophthalmic cases and support the theatre team as senior lead.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager and Facilities to ensure equipment readiness and use.
• Coach and develop a diverse team and maintain wellbeing.
• Lead teams in CQC readiness and improvement plans.
• Maintain records, administer drugs per guidelines, and support audit processes.
