Job summary

CHEC is seeking a Theatre Lead to join our expanding ophthalmic theatre team. You will lead day-to-day operations, ensure high standards of governance and patient care, and support the delivery of safe, efficient patient services within our NHS-partnered network.

You will bring a registered practitioner background (NMC/HCPC), theatre scrub experience, and proven leadership. This role emphasises staff development, CQC readiness, and robust record-keeping in a hospital setting in England.

Qualifications

• Registered with the NMC or HCPC.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a scrub role, ophthalmic preferred.
• Previous management or team-leader experience.
• Teaching or coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Be a visible leader for the hospital theatre team and governance.
• Oversee scrub procedures in ophthalmic cases and support the team.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager and Estates to maintain equipment.
• Coach a diverse team to achieve goals and wellbeing.
• Lead in CQC readiness and improvement plans.
• Maintain good record keeping and governance; ensure data protection.
