Job summary

CHEC is seeking a Theatre Lead to join our ophthalmic service within the NHS framework. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) across a 4-day pattern over 7 days, aimed at delivering high standards of patient care and governance.

You will be an experienced Theatre Practitioner or Senior Theatre Practitioner, guiding the team, supporting the hospital as a senior lead, and ensuring policy compliance while delivering efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Experience in a scrub role, ophthalmic preferred.
• Degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous management or team lead experience.
• Full training available for RGNs/ODPs with 2+ years post-qualification clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the theatre department team and ensure governance, clinical effectiveness and standards of care.
• Oversee scrub procedures in ophthalmic cases and support theatre team as a senior Theatre Lead.
• Coordinate with Facilities & Estates to ensure equipment is fit for purpose.
• Coach a diverse team to succeed and maintain wellbeing.
• Lead in CQC readiness and improvement plans with advisory support when needed.
• Maintain records and administer drugs per guidelines with audit processes.
• Adhere to Information Governance rules on data protection.
