Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a band 3 ophthalmic technician to join our ophthalmology team. The role offers training and development opportunities within a busy outpatient setting.

The post holder will work independently with supervision available in clinic, performing tests and procedures to support clinicians and deliver high quality patient care. Welsh language ability is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to vocational level 3 or equivalent skills and knowledge.
• IT qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality individualised care in ophthalmology outpatient clinics.
• Perform tests including visual acuity testing, dilating patients, OCT and imaging using the Optos camera, visual field testing, pachymetry and tonometry.
• Welsh language ability desirable; English/Welsh speakers welcome.
