Qualifications

• HCPC or NMC registration is required.
• Minimum 6 months UK operating theatre experience.
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• ILS / Paediatric ILS.
• Mentoring or teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre and ensure instruments, equipment and materials are sterile and ready for use.
• Set up instrument trays, check equipment function and maintain sterility throughout procedures.
• Directly assist surgeons by passing instruments, handling specimens and ensuring items are accounted for.
• Monitor the sterile field and respond to any equipment issues or breaks in sterility.
• Ensure accurate surgical counts before, during and after procedures for patient safety.
• Support post-operative duties including disposal of equipment, decontamination and documentation.
