Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare is seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse to join our private eye hospital in Hounslow on a part-time basis (19 hours per week across 2 days). The role involves providing skilled clinical support within the operating theatre, with peri-operative and post-operative duties as required, and participation in the ophthalmic surgical pathway.

You will work with a supportive team, benefit from funded training, and contribute to high standards of patient care in a leading private

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
• Current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions.
• Qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri operative care.
• One year or more ophthalmology surgical theatre experience.
• Computer and IT skills i.e. good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Awareness of responsibilities in relation to NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
• Awareness of CQC standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carries out a full range of registered health care professional duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s condition and care with support from the Practitioner in charge.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, by provision or appropriate surgical instrumentation and equipment.
• Take responsibility to ensure all surgical equipment is disposed of correctly including ensuring appropriate decontamination and sterilisation of reusable equipment is carried out and can be evidenced.
• Ensure all documentation for traceability is effectively completed.
