Job summary

Optegra Eye Health Care invites applications for an experienced Scrub Nurse at our North London Eye Hospital in Colindale. The role focuses on delivering high-quality ophthalmic surgical care within the operating theatre team, with potential peri-operative duties and support for minor procedures.

The successful candidate will hold current nursing or ODP registration, ophthalmology perioperative qualifications, and at least one year of theatre experience.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or ODP with current registration.
• Qualification in Ophthalmology or perioperative care.
• Minimum 1 year ophthalmology surgical theatre experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Awareness of NMC Code of Conduct and industry standards.
• Awareness of CQC standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance in the operating theatre.
• Support peri-operative and post-operative care within the Ophthalmic pathway.
• Assist with minor operations as required.
• Anticipate team needs and ensure proper instruments and equipment.

Education

Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner

Current NMC/ODP registration

Qualification in Ophthalmology or Perioperative care

One year ophthalmology surgical theatre experience

Awareness of NMC Professional Code of Conduct

Awareness of CQC standards and requirements
