Job summary

Optegra is seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse to join our dedicated team in Birmingham. You will provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as part of the operating theatre team, with potential peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite.

The role requires registration (NMC/ODP) with relevant ophthalmology experience and computer proficiency. We offer comprehensive benefits and funded training, supporting your professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
• Current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions.
• Ophthalmology perioperative care qualification.
• One year ophthalmology surgical theatre experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Awareness of NMC Code of Conduct.
• Awareness of CQC standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a full range of registered healthcare professional duties with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Anticipate surgical team needs by provisioning appropriate instrumentation and equipment.
• Ensure decontamination and sterilisation of reusable equipment is carried out and documented.
• Complete all documentation for traceability.
