Job summary

FMC Talent is seeking a Business Development Manager / Area Sales Manager to grow ophthalmic lens sales across a UK territory. You will drive targets, nurture key accounts, and train customers on product features and sales techniques.

Based around Manchester, Leeds or Sheffield, the role requires regular travel, strong relationship-building, and the ability to analyse performance data to improve results within a leading optical company.

Qualifications

• Field-based sales experience in ophthalmic/lens sector.
• Experience with ophthalmic lenses or dispensing optics.
• Willingness to travel across territory.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Ability to train customers and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed sales targets across the territory.
• Win new accounts and grow active customers across channels.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships with regular calls and support.
• Train customers on product features, benefits, and sales techniques.
• Provide technical and optical support as needed.
• Set objectives for sales calls and follow company processes.
• Analyze performance data and manage activity to territory goals.
• Plan travel and territory efficiently to maximise opportunities.
• Support local promotions and marketing activities.
