Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS is recruiting an Associate Ophthalmic Science Practitioner to maintain high standards of clinical work across ophthalmic services. You will perform visual fields, biometry, OCT and intra-ocular pressure measurements, while supporting the ophthalmic team in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires recent ophthalmic experience, excellent patient care and IT skills, with attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Qualifications

  • Recent ophthalmic clinical experience.
  • Previous experience in patient/public or customer care.
  • GCSE English & Maths passes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity and precise handling of ophthalmic instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Humphrey automated and Octopus manual visual fields.
  • Undertake biometric assessment using ultrasonography and optical biometry.
  • Perform optical coherence tomography and measure visual acuity and intra-ocular pressure.
  • Work as a flexible member of the Ophthalmic team on patients of all ages and abilities.
  • Participate in audits and research projects; ensure infection control.
