Job summary

Msfltd is seeking an installation and maintenance technician for electrical infrastructure tied to street lighting. You will work primarily from the Podington depot with travel between sites, on night shifts when required, performing terminations, testing, fault finding, and surveys.

You will liaise with clients and internal teams, ensure work is on time and within budget, and uphold MSF HSEQ policies while completing documentation.

Qualifications

  • CSCS/ECS Card required.
  • G39 and IPAF qualifications are desirable.
  • City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in electrical installations.
  • Inspection and testing experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Electrical street lighting experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to MSF HSEQ policies and reporting via Eyes and Ears App

Job description

THE ROLE

You willbe responsible forthe installation, testing,inspectionand maintenance of electrical infrastructure associated with street lighting and street furniture. Your duties will include SWA terminations, cable pulling and jointing, faultfindingand electrical surveys. The position will involves liaising with clients and internal teams on site, ensuring all works and completed to the required standard, on time and within budget.

As a rapidly growing business, no two days are ever the same so what you do will vary. The nature of our business and the pace of contracting also means that priorities do change so you will need to be comfortable with this. You will be primarily based in the Podington depot with regular travel between sites and depots along with staying away from home and night work whenrequired.

Key Responsibilities
  • SWA electrical terminations into lighting columns and feeder pillars whererequired
  • Testing & inspecting on street furniture and the completion of test certificate’s
  • Working safely and promote a safe environment for all operations and for all personnel under your authority and others who may be affected by MSF’s activities such as thegeneral public.
  • Fault finding
  • Electrical survey’s

  • Liaising with client’s and MSF personnel on site
  • Carrying out a Risk Assessment prior to the commencement of any work activity
  • Ensure all installations are completed to the correct standard, delivered on time and to budget.
  • Completing relevant documentation, paperwork and raising on-siteissue’s
  • Maintaina high levelof health and safety as per company policies/procedures
  • Ensure all works are completed as per MSF QEHS policies and procedures
  • Report and QEHS issues to supervisor and via Eyes and Ears App
Candidate Profile
  • Confident to work night shifts and stay away from home ifrequired
  • Physically able to undertake manual work
  • Committed to all installations being completed to the correct standard, delivered on time and within budget.
  • Positivelyparticipatein all training relevant to your role provided by the company
  • Work toa high levelof health and safety as per company policies/procedures
  • Confident to work as part of a team withgood communicationskills
  • Identifyrisks and problems on site and provide pro‑active solutions
  • You will make full use of all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E) at allappropriate timesprovided by the company
  • Checking that your company vehicle is fullymaintainedand kept in a roadworthy condition and to report all faults and defects via transport app. Ensuring all the working areas of the vehicle are kept clean and tidy, and to ensure that all tools and plantallocatedto the vehicle are maintained
