Whitehall Garden Centre Ltd is seeking an experienced Assistant Operations & Warehouse Manager to join our family‑run team. You will support the smooth day‑to‑day operation, supervise staff, and ensure an exceptional customer experience across a busy retail and hospitality environment.

You'll work closely with the Operations Manager to lead, motivate and develop teams, maintain high standards of service, safety and presentation, and manage rotas during busy periods and events.

Qualificações

• Has previous management or supervisory experience in retail, hospitality, leisure or customer-focused environments.
• Is confident leading and motivating a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Remains calm and professional in a busy environment.
• Strong focus on customer service and operational standards.
• Proactive, reliable and able to use own initiative.
• Flexible and comfortable working across different areas of the business.
• Hands-on approach and willing to get involved where needed.
• Confident taking responsibility and making decisions.
• Willing to undertake key-holding responsibilities.

Responsabilidades

• Support the Operations Manager with day-to-day running of the Garden Centre.
• Lead, motivate and support teams across different areas.
• Ensure high standards of customer service, presentation and cleanliness.
• Manage staff rotas, training, performance and development.
• Monitor operational standards and ensure procedures are followed.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Work with department managers for smooth day-to-day operations.
• Support busy periods, events and seasonal trading.
• Assist with Health & Safety, security and compliance.
• Act as a key holder for opening/closing when needed.
• Be an approachable member of the management team.
