Job summary

Wolseley Group in Chesterfield is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to act as the first contact for local operational system queries and issues, supporting and troubleshooting systems and coordinating improvements. You will train end-users and produce reporting to inform daily decisions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and experience with Excel and data analysis, with a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office with data handling.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or root-cause analysis.
• Qualification or equivalent experience in operations, business analysis, data/systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for local operational system queries and issues.
• Support and troubleshoot local operational systems, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Support system upgrades, testing, and configuration changes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Train and coach end-users to support effective and consistent system use.
• Produce operational reporting to support day-to-day activity and decision making.
• Identify recurring operational and system issues and feed these into the wider Operations Improvement agenda.
