Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Water Recycling Team Lead to drive day-to-day operations and strategic improvements within a UK-based water recycling facility. The role focuses on leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement across processes and teams.

The position requires extensive sector experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders including regulators and local councils. A degree and IOSH or equivalent H&S knowledge are desirable.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in a Water Recycling environment or equivalent degree with leadership capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and provide customer service.
• Work well under pressure with strong prioritisation.
• Health and Safety qualification (IOSH) or strong understanding of H&S legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Water Recycling team and oversee daily operations.
• Maintain compliance with environmental, regulatory, H&S, and company requirements.
• Optimize processes for efficiency and sustainability.
• Coach and develop employees through active workplace coaching.
• Establish relationships with regulators, customers and local councils.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Water Recycling team
• Oversee day-to-day operations of Water Recycling facilities
• Manage resources efficiently and effectively
• Maintain compliance with environmental, regulatory, Water Recycling, Health and Safety, and company requirements
• Optimise operational processes for efficiency and sustainability
• Carry out active management to maintain familiarity with current issues and resource requirements
• Champion collaboration across catchment areas
• Develop employees through active workplace coaching
• Prevent and manage operational incidents
• Ensure assets are maintained according to service level agreements and company policy
• Establish and build relationships with regulators, customers, and local councils
• Identify capital investment needs and promote business cases
• Ensure employee health, safety, and welfare
• Manage effective allocation of revenue and capital costs

Requirements

• Extensive experience of a Water Recycling environment within a proven leadership role, or educated to degree level with the capability of leading a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service skillset and ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations with resilience and prioritisation skills
• Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH, or strong understanding of H&S legislation and its workplace application
• Ability to work autonomously and as a strong team player
• In-depth understanding of Water Recycling process technology desirable
• Financial management experience advantageous
• Flexible approach to work, including management standby
• Full UK Driving Licence
