Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking an Operations Manager for the Wokingham Depot to lead the recycling and waste collections, street cleansing, and client coordination. You will manage supervisors, drive safety compliance, and ensure service KPIs are met in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes staff development, budget awareness, and continuous improvement across operations, with a Monday–Friday 37.5-hour week on site. A strong safety record and experience in vehicle management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing health and safety in a unionised environment.
• Proven ability to meet service delivery KPIs.
• Experience in vehicle management.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement within an operational/service environment.
• Experience producing and analysing reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of environmental responsibilities and health and safety legislation.
• Able to deal with conflict and negotiate outcomes.
• Analytical with the ability to measure and monitor data and take corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety, policy adherence and staff training.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and deliver contract reports on time.
• Work with Senior Business Manager to achieve budgeted targets including overtime and revenue.
• Supervise depot operations to meet contract standards and address performance issues.
• Ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment and vehicles with proper training.
• Maintain records and KPI reporting for contract compliance and information requests.
• Support the company in achieving business objectives and procedures.
