Salary: Attractive and competitive salary, details available on enquiry
Hours: Ideally 4 days per week, 9:00am-5:00pm, with flexibility available

Merton Lodge Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking Operational Manager to join our established and supportive team.
We are a well-established, high-performing rural dispensing GP practice in the heart of Alford, Lincolnshire, caring for approximately 7,000 patients. With a strong reputation, consistently high QOF achievement and a CQC rating of Good, we are proud of the services we deliver and the dedicated team behind them.
We have an experienced team of departmental line managers, a supportive and progressive partnership, and a shared commitment to delivering excellent patient care while creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
As part of an exciting development of our management structure, we are introducing a collaborative leadership model, bringing together an Operational Manager and Business Manager to work alongside our partners and wider team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare manager, or an ambitious individual looking to take the next step in their management career.
The Operational Manager will take the lead on the day-to-day running of the practice, with responsibility for workforce management, HR, service delivery, patient access, operational performance and staff development.
Working closely with the Business Manager, partners and departmental managers, you will play a key role in supporting our teams, improving processes and helping shape the future of the practice.
We are looking for someone who:
A relevant management qualification, leadership accreditation or IGPM accreditation would be advantageous, although we equally value practical experience, enthusiasm and the right approach to leadership.
We recognise that effective leadership requires the right support, a healthy work-life balance and the opportunity to work collaboratively.
Our new management structure has been designed to promote shared responsibility, professional development, staff wellbeing and sustainable workloads, ensuring our managers have the time and support to lead effectively.
This is an opportunity to be part of a shared management structure, where the Operational Manager and Business Manager work at an equal level, both reporting directly to the Partners. Whilst each role has clearly defined responsibilities, both managers will work closely together, sharing expertise, supporting one another and contributing to the continued success and development of the practice. This approach is designed to promote collaboration, shared responsibility and management wellbeing.
Our practice operates between 8:00am and 6:30pm, although we consider a working pattern of 9:00am-5:00pm across four days per week to be ideal for this position.
However, we recognise that flexibility means different things to different people. We are therefore very happy to consider alternative working days and hours, including a full-time, five-day working week, depending on the preferences of the successful candidate and the needs of the practice.
The position also offers one protected home-working day per week, providing dedicated time for planning, administration and management responsibilities away from the demands of the busy practice environment.
We welcome open discussions about working arrangements and are keen to find a mutually beneficial balance that supports both the individual and the organisation.
