Job summary

SS Systems Limited, a South Yorkshire-based fire and security company, is seeking an Operations Manager. The role oversees day-to-day operations across installation, maintenance and service teams, ensuring service delivery to required standards and regulatory compliance.

Office and site-based, with sites UK-wide and a 40-hour workweek. Applicants should have strong leadership, safety culture, and regulatory knowledge (BS5839, NSI/SSAIB).

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operations or service management in fire and security.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of UK standards and regulatory requirements (BS5839, NSI/SSAIB).
• Experience with KPI monitoring, service delivery and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations across installation, maintenance and service teams.
• Ensure fire and security systems meet required standards.
• Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Manage engineers, supervisors, FLMs and administrative staff; conduct performance reviews and training.
• Foster health & safety culture; oversee recruitment, onboarding and retention.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and quality assurance; monitor KPIs and audits.
• Manage budgets, costs, margins and contract performance; assist pricing and tenders.
